Meet Sarah

Sarah is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania with a robust career spanning multiple settings and working with a diverse range of individuals. She previously served as Assistant Director and Therapist at the Robert Morris University Counseling Center, where she spearheaded mental health outreach, campus partnerships, training initiatives, and graduate/doctoral-level supervision. She currently serves as part-time faculty for the psychology department at Robert Morris University. 

 

Throughout her career, Sarah has worked in a variety of settings, including drug and alcohol treatment and community mental health, providing care to individuals with a wide range of needs. Her therapeutic approach is compassionate, nonjudgmental, and grounded in the belief that humor and joy are essential parts of the healing process. She helps clients feel supported and at ease as they navigate life’s challenges.

 

Sarah specializes in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and is a fully trained EMDR therapist. She also holds additional training in EMDR-M and the Flash technique for trauma. Her professional contributions include publishing in the Journal of Feminist Family Therapy and leading workshops on counselor burnout, self-care, vicarious trauma, and the intersectionality of mental health.

She holds a Master of Arts in Social and Public Policy (with a concentration in Conflict Resolution and Peace Studies) from Duquesne University, and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from California University of Pennsylvania (now PennWest California). Before entering the mental health field, Sarah spent many years in educational nonprofit leadership, including serving as Executive Director of Breakthrough Pittsburgh, an organization focused on expanding access to higher education for underrepresented youth.

I work with individuals dealing with trauma, anxiety, grief, OCD, identity questions, and major life transitions. Many of my clients are navigating burnout, perfectionism, or the impact of complex family dynamics. I also work with high-profile individuals and professionals in high-demand roles/industries, offering space to process without the pressure to perform.
